During the last game of the 1939 World Series, 23-year-old Frank Sinatra receives an autograph from recently retired Hall of Fame slugger Lou Gehrig. Within two years Sinatra would be discovered and climb to the top of the charts, and the legendary first baseman would be dead of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis at the age of 37.

Fun fact: The gentleman on the right is Dr. Paul O'Leary, the Mayo Clinic physician who helped diagnose Gehrig with ALS.
