Dalai Lama, Age 4
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet was born Lhamo Dondrub, July 6, 1935. Although he was selected as the reincarnate of the 13th Dalai Lama at the age of two, it would take until 1950 for him to be officially recognized as the 14th Dalai Lama.
From establishing a government in exile to winning a Nobel Peace Prize and lecturing around the world as an advocate of human welfare, his 63 year reign has ushered in progress of compassion as well as a global awareness of the Tibetan plight.
