The Incredible Amazon Milk Frog

Also known as the Mission Golden-eyed Tree Frog or Blue Milk Frog (Trachycephalus resinifictrix), this beautiful species of tree frog is native to the Amazon rainforest, spending its entire life in tropical canopies.

The bright contrast of colors seen above are indicative of a juvenile, as older specimens have bumpy brown skin with dark stripes. The "Milk" in Blue Milk Frog refers to the sappy, white poison secreted when the frog is threatened. And the "Blue"?  Well, figure it out.
