Since its introduction in 1963, more than 820,000 units have been sold, making the nameplate of the German sports coupe one of the oldest in continuous production. Purists may still squabble over details like air-cooled vs. liquid-cooled motors, but throughout 50 years and seven generations the iconic design of the rear-engined 911 has remained largely constant, as well as one of the most recognizable shapes in automotive history.
