The Cost of War

The Cost of War

Via: wikimedia

"The Great War" was certainly a justified moniker: 30 countries with 65 million combatants were involved, with the Entente Powers (Allies) losing nearly 6 million soldiers and the Central Powers (Axis) losing around 4 million.

This powerful image shows two American soldiers at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C. recovering from casualties of their own.

Photo dated 1918.
